In ordinary high technology, unaffected by Christmas, you ship a product when the engineering is finished—whenever that is. But in the game industry, you must complete a game in one year, or two years at the most, because you can’t afford to miss Christmas. If a developer is big enough, it may have several projects going on at once, possibly for several different publishers.
